New To Volvo, Trying To Decide On S60
Hi, I've never owned a Volvo before, but am thinking about picking up a 2012 S60 T6 AWD that is at a local dealer. It has 32,000 miles on it and is Volvo Certified. They want around $22,000 for it. Has brand new tires and is in very good shape. Is there anything I should be concerned about? I have always owned domestic cars, all Chevys and Pontiacs. I know nothing about Volvos but I was blown away when I test drove the S60 T6. The Volvo would be my daily driver as I have a 2005 GTO that I drive on nice days.
My big questions:
How reliable can I expect it to be?
How expensive are regular maintenance parts? (brakes, filters, etc...)
How good is the Volvo Certified warranty?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 2007 s60 2.5T AWD. I love it. They haven't changed a whole lot between those years. As for your first question:
Reliable? Absolutely! I have never had a single problem with mine and it is very fun to drive.
Cost? It's a Swedish car. Replacement parts are going to be more expensive than domestic vehicles and aftermarket parts are most definitely going to be harder to find. However, maintenance costs are about the same as domestic. Good brake pads are going to be 45-50 bucks. Air filter $15. Basic stuff. Overall I love it and is definitely worth it. Good luck!

April 2014 I bought a certified 2012 s60 with about 36k miles on it. It's now at 60,500.
I LOVE THIS CAR.
Today it's in for it's $500ish 60k mile maintenance, other than oil changes and tires, that's the biggest expense yet. When I started looking last year it was between a BMW 3 series and this car - I went with this one as it was $7,000 less. Frankly, I thought I'd be very disappointed comparatively. While I find the handling and acceleration of the 3 series to be superior, I'm not at all disappointed with the s60. It has power when you need it and with all the crazies on the roads today I feel good knowing I'm driving a tank. Do miss the stick shift, though.
