PCV kit?

PCV kit?
I've owned the 2002 for two years now and I just received an e-mail from IPD about a special price for PCV kits.
I've replaced many PCV valves on my other cars but what is with this PCV kit? PCV valves are normally a cheap part and quick install. I am not getting a warm fuzzy feeling with replacing the PCV on a 2002 S60 Volvo. I hope it isn't one of those "better" engineering ideas that require removing hald a car to replace a part?

Am I just an old guy and accustomed to older vehicles? Have newer vehicles moved to the PCV system or is it particular to some cars?
Remove the intake to do it? I'll do a search on the list.

really depends on your model and age of the car. The kits for the "under the intake" cars includes several hoses to get the blow-by from the block into the oil separator (flame trap) and from the separator to the intake. On older, high mileage cars, oil sludge can build up inside the block ports as well as inside the hoses so that's where the full kit is a must as well as having access to the ports in the block to clean them out. If you simply have a torn hose but the rest of the system is functioning, that's different.
