S60 CV joint axle bearing cage interoperability?
Hi,
I own a 2005 S60R manual transmission. In a rather long & embarrassing story, I've shattered the bearing cage on my driver side inner CV joint. I disassembled the passenger side inner CV joint & compared the bearing cage to the driver side's broken pieces, and the bearing cages appear to be identical. I've attached a photo below.
Would anyone happen to know if the Volvo OE CV bearing cages are the same across all S60s? My plan is to grab an axle from another S60 at a junkyard, cannibalize it for the bearing cage, and re-assemble my driver side axle. It doesn't make much sense to pay the $360+ Tasca wants for a new CV axle, and if I can use an axle from any S60, that would be easier/cheaper than having to find/buy an AWD Turbo manual transmission axle that matches my S60R.
Thanks,
Arch
