1999 s70 GLT turbo
Howdy all, I'm not actually a Volvo owner but received a turbo off a 1999 s70 for free from a friend for a project of mine. Can anyone tell me which hole is the oil in/ out and the coolant in/out also what is the extra nipple on the housing for? this is the part I was given. 1999 Volvo S70 Turbocharger 2.4L Engine 40-30115 AN

Volvos run Mitsubishi TD04HL turbos of various impeller sizes. Yours is likely a 16T (if from a S70T ) or a 13G (if from a S70 GLT (aka low pressure turbo). You should be able to research the TD04s on how they fit for project apps. If you have a 16T, you can sell it to an 850T owner looking for a nice upgrade if you decide not to do your project.

The oil and coolant lines are opposite on the CHRA. The hole that has the drain line (2 screw holes) is the oil drain, the opposite side is the oil inlet. If you have the compressor in your right hand and the turbine in your left hand, and the oil inlet on top, the coolant port closest to your body is the coolant return.
