98 S70 No start, CEL always on(does not cycle)
I bought a 98 S70 with a blown HG and ended up having to swap the motor because there was more water in the pan than oil. The only engine that was available locally that was at a reputable salvage yard was out of a 99 S70. Obviously I had to swap the 98 distributor, intake mani, acc. bracket, and misc. other things onto the new engine to work in the car. No problems there...
Here is the problem, car does not start. It has fuel but I noticed the CEL does not cycle when the key is turned, it just is constantly illuminated. From my experience on other vehicles this would indicate that the ECU either is not getting power, is not grounded, or has failed. But I am confused since I do have fuel pressure. Am i incorrect or do i need to find the ECU ground/ trace power distribution to figure out why it is not starting.
Thank you for your help!

-The advice is free....
-NO ONE here knows your experience level. Even the most experienced people miss things.
-The people who are regulars here are helpful on THEIR time
-Being rude is not conducive to getting additional help
You purchased a vehicle that did not run. You replaced the engine with an engine you don't know if it works. You did the work yourself. I'd answer RSPI's question and not worry about the ECU. Cars need fuel water and spark to run. If the engine is in time and you have those 3 the car WILL start.
Put your ego away and work with the basics first
