Angry Engine codes P0722 and P1618

I recently replaced my ABS module which resolved my ABS lights, snow mode light and funky speedometer problems but now the check engine light is on and Autozone pulled codes P0722 and P1618. Disconnecting the battery for awile did not make the check engine light go out. The car runs fine now, just has the light on and it bothers me.

Did the transmission codes get cleared?

My 99 S70 had those same two codes associated with a bad ABS module.

Yes- both of those are transmission codes, and our cars use the ABS system for speed monitoring, which is done by the transmission on most other cars, hence the ABS module setting transmission codes. That's why Tech asked if he cleared the trans codes. Simply replacing the ABS module won't make them go away, and neither will disconnecting the battery. OBD-II cars store the codes in flash memory, precisely so that disconnecting the battery WON'T clear them. If the associated problem with your car is truly fixed, the codes will clear themselves after a few days, or you can use (most) generic OBD-II code readers to clear them now and see if they come back. They probably won't, unless something else is going on.

I have very similar problem with my 99 S70 T5 auto. I had ETS and CEL (P0442, P0136, P0036, p1550 and P0722 by Actron reader) on before I brought my car to a local mechanic. ETS was kind of on and off, but CEL was constantly on. There was also ABS light coming on time to time.
They replaced both the front control arms, the front rotors and pads, the rear o2 sensor, and the front engine mount.

I picked up my car this afternoon, and test drove. They said they could not clear all the codes and got a new code. Now, I have CEL with P0722 and P1618 but ETS is gone. It had Brake and ABS lights on

I had couple of strange experiences from test driving after the repair. First, when I was merging into highway traffic, RPM suddenly jumped from 2000 to 4000+, and the speedometer was stuck at 35 MPH while I thought it was at least 65 MPH. When I came back to local traffic (25MHP), speedometer came back and Brake and ABS lights were gone. But when I tried stopping at intersection, I felt sudden vibration through the brake pedal and then felt the pedal popping up. ABS light came on immediately. After some more driving, ABS light was gone, but the RPM jumped again when I accelerated. Could this also be from the problem with ABS module soldering?

Typical problems from the ABS module being bad.

Finally, I took care of the ABS module problem. I had to crack the sides to open it. I put it back after resoldering the joints three days ago. I haven't had CEL light, yay, until today. So I rushed to advanced auto part and checked the code. Both of the ABS related codes P0722 and P1618 were still gone, but p0422 came back, which went off after the rear o2 sensor replacement last month.

You are right. It must be p0442 (evap small leak). BTW I replaced gas cap a month ago. It has the same making as the original one but without the cord attached.

You might have a hose by the fuel filter that is cracked or the evap valve might be acting up.

Could be that one or the bigger one that looks like a J.

I used a mirror to see the J-shaped hose, and indeed it had a inch-long crack near the end. Thanks again Tech for the help. Now I have to think about how I should crawl underneath.
