Hello all! I have owned my 2000 Volvo S70 non-turbo FWD for about 4 months now, and have begun to notice a few problems with it. One of the major problems seems to be with the transmission overheating, which causes it to shift hard and sometimes slip out of gear. This usually happens in stop and go traffic, and the transmission cools back down when the car starts moving at cruising speeds again. Strangely, when the transmission starts to overheat, the power steering begins to make a strange grinding/whining noise whenever the steering wheel is moved. I'm guessing that fluid is overheating too, but it doesn't make much sense because the noise continues even when the transmission cools. Not sure what could be the problem, and I want to take care of the issues this summer before I go off to college. Thanks all!
