Replacement Mast Help!

Replacement Mast Help!
Alright, this is going to sound very stupid, but here it goes:
A few weeks ago, I got a like-new S70 T5 for my first car. I decided last week that it needed a car wash, and for five bucks you cant beat it. However, my naivety got the best of me, and before I realized that I forgot to turn off the car and keep it in neutral as it rode through the wash, my mast was bent 90 degrees to the left and looked mighty ridiculous. In another burst of stupidity, I tried to bend it back. How foolish of me to disrespect the car gods again. The mast snapped and the next day, fell out of of the sleeve.
Now, the sleeve sticks out, unable to retract. The motor still works, as far as I know, since I can hear it crying every time I turn off the engine. I ordered a brand new mast off Amazon, and now I'm stuck in a conundrum. I can either bring my new mast with the car to the mechanic and have him charge me $30-$50 in repairs, or do it myself for free. However, I am not a big gear head, and most of what I know about cars comes from TV shows and Forza Motorsport. If anyone could provide me with a step-by-step guide on how to replace the mast, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

No need to access the motor, just pull the top bolt off and pull the old out, feed the new in.
