Faulty sensor?

Faulty sensor?
After my car warms up, the red radiator light illuminates on my dash, the only other time I have seen this light was seconds before my heater core blew. But I just started driving this car again after a ton of work on the car, and my temp gauge stays right at the 3oclock position and the coolant levels are fine. Would this be from a faulty thermostat?

I seem to be having a similar problem, although mine just started a few days after having a heater core hose leak replaced. I had the hose replaced, then a few days (and nearly 1000 miles later) the light comes on. I thought maybe they had missed another leak in the coolant system, but when I check the coolant level on the expansion tank it appears to be right where it should be. Is this another case of some wiring issues? Any help would be appreciated on how to do a little fiddling with it myself.
