Default 2000 Volvo s80 2.9 Turns on but seconds later turns off

The car turns on ok but then seconds later the rpms start going up and down until it finally turns off. (starts going up and down between 500rpms and 1200 rpms)
I checked the fuel pressure and its at 55 psi so I dont think its the fuel pump.
I changed the spark plugs to vehicle specs, but its still the same.
Cleaned the Thottle...but nothing.

The car has a check engine and it only brings up one code (p0036) heated oxygen sensor bank 1
but dont think thats whats causing my car to turn off by its self.

I noticed that when I disconnect the MAF sensor ( the one located where the air filter is) the car turns on fine and stays on. I dont know if the MAF sensor is the problem, if it is shouldn't it give a code for that?

STB7, you got MAF Problem brother. As a first Aid try using CRC MAF Cleaner to clean it. If it still does not work replace the MAF, you can have it from junk yard to be sure.

Do not waste on other things unless you do not check MAF completely.

Good luck!
