I own a 2006 S80, now with 58k that I purchased new and always babied.
I have never had a problem, and now the dreaded Reduce Engine Performance message. I have a CAN code reader, but it cannot link to his vehicle.
I thought that all ETM problems were long solved.
Can I drive 40 miles to dealer, or can I go to an independent Volvo shop, Swedish Motors in Hyde Park NY.
Disappointed

 

I managed to "repair" my S80. The check engine light was on, as well as the reduced engine performance light. I had recently filled the fuel tank, almost to the brim, and driven 15 miles, shutting the car off for the night. The next day, the above events transpired. I opened the gas cap, to check it's tightness, which was fine. Several attempts at starting, 3 or 4, the car ran fine and all lights cleared.

My fault for over filling?

Loving my Volvo.
