Smile Connect to laptop?

Greetings everybody!

Just bought a 2001 S80. I'm fairly new to these cars and have searched around a bit but couldnt find a clear answer.

What cable do I need to connect the car to my laptop? And what's the best software to do so? So far it seems VADIS is the best one, any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

VADIS is no longer used. VIDA is what we use now at the dealership, and you will need the DiCE unit as well. It plugs into the car and communicates via Bluetooth with the laptop to interact with the VIDA software.

Yep. That is likely a bootleg version so it will not update and you won't be able to perform software downloads, but you can read and clear codes, change programmable parameters and access all the repair information.
