Default head gasket

I got my headgasket, but I'm alone in putting in my head and it's not easy manuvering it in. I accidently slid the head across the gasket so i picked the head up and saw I tore off a small piece of the red gasket sealer. It's a small piece, less then 1/8". Have I ruined my gasket? can I put a small dab of sealer where its missing?

had a question since you are doing your head gasket. I need to change my head gasket out too but I needed to know if you have to take the cam cover off to get the head off. I was hoping that I can pull the head off as an assy with the cam pulleys still attached with a cam lock and cam case still attached?
