Default Cam shaft sensor and timing belt

Hi,

I have an S80 T6 1999 119K miles. Last week it suddenly stopped running middle of the traffic and wont start again. While timing belt is okay, the computer diagnostics indicated PO344 code which is cam shaft sensor circuit intermittent Bank 1 or single sensor.

My question is if one or two teeth of the timing belt is eroded, will it cause the cam shaft sensor to go intermittent? I am going to replace timing belt, the pulleys, and also the serpentine belt. The spark plug is okay but I ight replace it. We did check the spark plug is functioning okay. The fuel pressure was also okay on testing.

Kindly throw some light. Thanks. Sundhar

If you have spark the cam sensor should be working.
