I have a 2002 S80 and have recently replaced the strut, strut mount, & lower control arm. I was not having the issue at first, but now when I turn hard to the left it makes a really loud squeaking noise that reminds me like the big round metal thing you play on in the park the spins around. Any ideas what this may be. I have not noticed the noise when I turn hard to the right.

 

Maybe it's the protective shield on the inner side of the rotor. They can be bent out of shape real easy.
Just bend it back into position.

 

thanks, I will look into that. I do not think it has anything to do with the power steering. The squeaking is not constant. I have now noticed it sometimes when I am going slow and straight, like when stuck in traffic, it will occassionally make the noise. sometimes higher pitched then others. It is usually of the lower pitch, and will be like hhhhmmmm hmmm hhhmmmmn. It will make the noise everytime when I make a really hard left. I only notice when going slow because that is the only time I would turn that hard. Have to turn all the way until the wheel can not turn any more. The noise sounds like it is coming from the right/passenger tire area.
