Hello all,

My mom just bought a used 99 S80 and its got some problems with it to say the least, right now I'm visiting her but have to go back home Thursday and want to get some problems resolved before I leave.

The symptoms of the car are that after it has been driving for a while if you let it idle it will just die and the only way to get it going again is to let it sit for about 10-15 mins then it will start and drive okay for a while more.

The Dealership did a diagnostic on it a few weeks ago because the check engine light is on and they reported that the "Mass Airflow" And Both "O2 Sensors" are bad and need to be replaced and it sounds like they could be causing the problem. I drove the car a bit and tried flooring it and it would hang randomly at 4k rpm or sometimes 5k rpm and not go past it... and think it could also potentially be a fuel filter.

Another thing is I am not familiar with the locations of the o2 sensors and they are estimating it will take 3.5 labor hours to replace them.. that kinda sounds like bs but hoped to get some info from someone about the time it takes to replace the sensors as they are usually easy to get to.

not just gonna slap ETM on this one, does it have this weird vibration before it stalls, or does it just sorta die out? do the cabin/dash lights dim and brighten? when you turn it on does the rpm bounce for a second before dipping to idle? and does it ever dip below it's idle range then go back up? or does it not maintain idle at all? please be specific, there are many throttle/airflow/filter issues that can happen with a '99 S80 and you can usually tell what it is from the little symptoms.
