2000 V40 ignition problems
Hey all, a bit baffled here. My 2000 V40 ignition won't turn to the crank position, I can get all lights, fans, fuel pump and accessories on, but cylinder seems locked beyond that point. I am not receiving any immobilizer warning, has fuel pressure, etc. I removed the ignition switch, and tried to start that way but it just cranks, no fire. Seems like an immobilizer issue, but have found no indication of the cylinder freezing as a result, bottom line is I can't afford to throw money at something that won't remedy the problem.
Thanks for any insight.

Try posting on the S40 board - that's a bit more active... there are a few things in play with these cars - the PNP switch or shifter can act up (on my s40 the button on the shifter sticks on occasion and I can't pull the key out unless I row the shifter and get the button to pop up). It could be a problem in the ignition switch as well. Have you tried to read any codes? If you have a key fob, you can try resetting the immobilizer by turning off the car then use the fob to lock/unlock the doors 5X in a row.
