Volvo V40 2.0T yr 2001 P0171
Hi there good people!
Im looking into buying one of V40 Volvo.
My friend and i checked it and had P0171 error code meaning System too lean.
Car was in garage standing still for more than 6 months, when i went in to start it battery was almost dead( the motor barely cranked).
After few very slow rotations engine started like a champ, maintaining 1500rpm(or some of that range).
After a while it brought idle rpm to 750 like specified.
Fuel gauge was in lowest possible level ( and Fuel station icon was flashing)
Driving it, it proved very strong in pulling away 1,2,3,4-th gear( no stumping hesitation or anything), very fast and strong reaction from engine.
We deleted error code, pour some 10l of fuel, drove it again for about 10km, again very dynamicaly just to see if the code will pop up again and it didnt.
Now i am asking could it be possible that engine error was triggered by a VERY poor battery and fact that fuel level was in -1 ?
Thanks in advance, Boban from Serbia

Hello there, first you need to write what exact engine is in the car( it can be found on the timing belt cover)
If approppriate MAF was put in then possible causes are:
-Low fuel pressure
-Bad O2 Sensor
-Leak on the exhaust before O2 sensor
-Vacuum leak
If it wont start when it gets cold first thing i would do is to check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail. There should be shredder valve on left side of the rail.
