Default Timing belt

My Haynes manual has the frequency for changing the timing belt in my 2007 V50 (non-turbo) at every 60,000 miles. My owners' manual has it at every 120,000 miles. That is quite a difference. What should I defer to?

Also, are foot pounds the same in Europe as they are in the USA? In other words, when I change my plugs and my Haynes manual (which was produced in the UK) specifies a certain amount of torque in foot pounds is it the same as in the US. Are foot pounds, foot pounds?

Use the Volvo owners' manual.
