Default Flame Trap Location 2003 V70 2.4L

Does anybody know the location of the flame trap box that my dealer wanted $850to clean. My chiltons guide did not list it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Vent box is mounted to the front of the engine under the intake manifold.

Thanks Tech, so the term flame box trap and vent box are the same thing. Is this a DIY type cleaning? Should I replace or just clean? Thanks alot for the help.

I would just replace it. Yes it is a DIY job.

Be sure to clean all the hoses as well, and pay SPECIAL attention to the PCT, a small nipple that runs to the underside of the intake tube. I've read a lot of people on the Swedespeed forum that have done a full PCV system replace, but that part comes with the intake tube and can easily be forgotten. This is one of the biggest problem pieces. Change everything else, and if this is clogged, it won't matter how much work you did to the rest of the system.

A lot of people will take the entire Intake Manifold off to complete this, but don't let that scare you. It's still a DIY project. Good luck!
