Default Filler Cap Solenoid - Interesting Fact

Hi Guys,
just wanted to share something about the filler caps on the P2 V70s (probably the same for all of the P2 family though).

A while back the solenoid on my 2005 2.5T AWD failed, I couldn't get into it to add petrol so stripped it out.
At the time I also couldn't find a replacement without spending about 120 USD
This kind a stuck in my throat.
So I brought one for the P1 version.

Here's what I found.
The part was about 10 USD AND if you take the solenoid unit out of the housing
you can put that solenoid unit in the later P2 housing and everything fits.
There's a slight difference in operation which is also cool.
With the old solenoid fitted you need to press unlock on your key fob when you want to open the filler cap (or close it afterwards) - so it effectively auto locks.

I thought it was noteworthy that you could save a few bucks.
Hope someone found this useful.

Paul.
