Default Vibration woes

I have a 1999 T5 with 100K that has a low harmonic vibration at idle, when you shift the automatic from Park or Neutral into Drive or Reverse the vibration is felt. I have checked all mounts and that does not seem to be the issue, also have pulled the front damper
inspected it then re-installed it at 180 degrees from original with a small bit of improvement noticed. What have I overlooked or missed?
Thanks in advance
Glenn B

One of the hydrolic mounts might be bad but you really can't tell.

Most of the time they will crank and leak the fluid out when bad. But they could also sag all the way and not leak.

Thanks Tech for your info. I am a newbie to Volvo's and might ask some stupid questions from time to time. I have replaced the top bushing as it was definately in need of. When I had the car on the hoist the 2 motor mounts showed no sign of leaking and when I lifted the engine via a large bar didn't seem to have a lot of movement but there was certainly some. I am not sure as to what is exceptable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated or suggestions as to where or what to look at next.
thanks again

If the hydrolic mounts are really weak the oil pan will be sunk lower in the subframe.
Also under the transmission there is a rubber bumper in the subframe.
See if the tranny is resting on it.

The oil pan doesn't look like it has sunken lower,is the tranny supposed to rest on the subframe bumper and if the motor mounts were changed does the subframe have to be dropped?

No the tranny isn't supposed to rest on it.

You can usually lift the motor up some to replace the mounts instead of dropping the subframe.

Thanks tech for your help with this problem I think what I will do is replace all the mounts rather than try to figure out which one is pooched
