Default Sun Visor installation

I have been looking at a driver's side sun visor with homelink - but it is not clear to me how to install it. I assume that there is a power connector to the visor since the mirror is lighted but the attachment point at the headliner has no visible fasteners - how does one remove and then replace the sun visor?

Thanks

You have to remove the cover to gain access to the screws to remove it.
The cover is the oval looking thing that mounts around the swivel point of the visor. I mean where it swivels to go like by the door instead of by the windsheild.

Thanks - I assume it is a simple (gentle) pry job.

Yes that is but the Plug is located under the Panel next to the windsheild and you will have to pull and pop the panel off to get to it.

New (used) visor with HomeLink arrived yesterday - the installation took about 15 minutes. A couple of hints: The little cover plate has three hooks on the side facing to the interior of the car and two on the side adjacent to the windshield. Snap it off by prying with a small screwdriver or flat piece of metal, starting on the side next to the windshield. The two bolts holding the inner plastic part are 10 mm. After removing the bolts, the base is still held by a fixed hook on the short side facing inward and a spring clip on the side facing outward. Remove by pushing the assembly to the outside. The power connection from the car is via a plug that is held to the base in a couple of molded-in clips. Unplug it, plug the new visor in and reverse the process to finish - all in about the time it takes to describe it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do when the visor will not stay up? On other cars I have found a screw that you could tighten, or in some cases there was room to shove shims into the mount. I see no way to make either work, and the mount appears to be plastic.... any one figured something out?

Thanks,

What color visor do you need? I have the driver's side unit that I removed to install one with Homelink -it is in "as new" condition.
