98 V70 P0172 code and O2 sensor voltage
Hi Everyone,
I have a 98 V70 that keeps throwing a P0172 and the CEL. OBD2 also says that O2 Sensor 1, Bank 1's voltage is between .175 and .310 volts, and O2 Sensor 2, Bank 1's voltage is a constant .0000 volts. At first glance it looks like it could be the #2O2 sensor that has failed and causing the code, but is there anything else that could cause the code and the zero voltage on the O2 sensor ?Is it trying to fake me out, when it's really caused by a vacuum leak or something else? :-)
Thanks !

RE: 98 V70 P0172 code and O2 sensor voltage
That had to be the fastest response I have ever seen on a public bulletin board.
On the V70 non-turbo, where is the #2 O2 sensor located ? I think it's under the car near the catalytic converter right ?
I am going to check for vacuum leaks also, I already replaced one of the hoses that was cracked. I am sure there are more. :-)

Yes it should be just infront or just behind the cat.
These O2 sensors are really wacky. And if it goes usually the other isn't far behind.
Also try to get a Bosch one piece sensor not a splice sensor. Volvo's don't like to be spliced.
Sorry but won't reply again tonight have to hit the bed.
