Default Feeble heating!

I have an XC60 D5 Lux Premium Auto 2009.

Only got the car a month ago. The heating is a bit feeble. Even on High, output is barely luke warm. It got to -5 deg today so this is becoming more important! Radiator fluid level is fine. Any ideas/cures?

Yes - as i had the same this this week. Currently car in for repair under warranty. I have a 2009 XC60 with same issue - it turned out to be faulty fan assembly and sensor - i realised it first off as i had the message 'Coolant System Service Required' on the dash.

hope this helps

Thanks for that.

I took my car in & the diagnostics came up with various synching faults with dampers etc. These were reset. I now get the cabin up to temperature although, on auto, the heat seems to permeate rather than blast in. If I take it off auto & set the controls to footwell, I get quite decent heat levels in that configuration.

We are going to change the thermostat as the car does seem to take a long time to generate any heat. It would be much easier to diagnose this if the car was fitted with a temperature gauge but this old fashioned nicety is no longer deemed necessary!

Thank goodness for the heated seats!
