Transmission shudder during stopping
|
I just purchased a 2001 XC70 with 110k miles. I noticed that the transmission is shuddering, or halting, when coming to a slow stop. It like the drivetrain is in battle with the brakes, the drivetrain wanting to push forward at 10mph, and the brakes trying to bring the car to a stop. It is an on/off sort of thing, where the drivetrain is pushing, then its not, then it is, then its not... chug chug chug right before you come to a stop. Well.. sort of like when driving a manual, and you forget to take it out of gear when coming to stop. It is very subtle, but I'd like to nip the problem in the bud. I was thinking of changing the transmission fluid. Is this common? Would changing the fluid help?
