Default Checking transmission fluid level when hot

I'm trying to check the level of my transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick when the engine is cold and hot. What's the easiest way to get to the dipstick, especially when it's hot, it burns your hands when trying to check it?

there really isnt and easy way to check i. after a while you get good at getting it really fast. the way i do it is i use my thumb to push the coolant hose and then use my index and middle finger to pull the dip stick.

I know what you mean, very difficult. I wish they would make it longer. Thank you for the advise. I'll try doing that a couple times while its cold until I get better at it, then try hot.
