2000 V70 Turbo Wagon Starts Then Dies Immediately
 

Hi guys.

I have a problem.

I have a 2000 Volvo V70 Turbo Wagon with the 2.5L Engine, Automatic Transmission, 195K miles.

Went into the store today, came out, started then died immediately.

Scanned it and got no codes.

It starts, runs about 2-3 seconds, doesn't go above 2400 RPM's, even if you
press the gas with it at start, then dies immediately.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will be checking back, so if anyone has any thoughts which require new information,

NOTE: I do not get a check engine light, do not get an immobilizer light, and do not
get a security light.

Try testing your maf sensor

I have this issue as well. I just take the key out and put it back in. After a try or two it works again. It doesn't happen all the time to me. I think it may be the immobilizer because I've already tried the MAF and didn't fix it. I'm pretty sure if you go to the dealer, they can reprogram you a new key and it will work fine.

Probably too late to be helpful and I have only joined this forum today.
However, I had the exact same problem with a different make vehicle.
It turned out to be the air intake pipe had slipped partially off the inlet manifold and the computer was reading this as a low or no fuel being delivered to the injectors so cut the motor. Any large vacuum or air leak will produce the same result.:)

My issue ended up being a ground wire in the wrong place. Was happy and mad at the same time
