There is no "valve cover gasket". There is a cam cover, with an anerobic (sp) sealer between the head and the cam cover. If you loosen the cam cover - the valve springs push the cover up and with the VVT cam gear you can't get the cover off without removing the VVT gear which requires specials tool to hold the cams and requires removal of the timing belt - it's not as simple as a valve cover gasket on most other engines that have an actual "valve cover gasket".
If your "valve cover gasket" is leaking - someone screwed up something really badly putting it back together the last time! (as in they had no clue what they were doing!) So beware of whatever else you find - including your list of codes.
Try replacing the oil cap seal first, cleaning the waffle on the top of the head - and see what still leaks.
