Default '04 engine replacement

. I've been looking for a replacement engine for my car. '04 v70. The VIN gives an engine code of "64". I understand this translates to a B5244S6. The emissions plate under the hood, pictured above, gives another story. That indicates it has a B5244S, this should correspond to a "61" in the VIN. So, it appears inconsistent. Although the plate does read that it is compliant with California Emissions. Is the B5244S on the emissions plate simply an indicator of the long block?

Assuming the "64" is correct on my car, '04 64's are difficult to find. Is a '05 "64" identical and interchangeable?
