2004 V70 how to remove clips on hood insulation pad

Another dumb question but the only vid on line that shows the process has a guy do it with his big arm in the way. And it's the only time he "shows" how to remove clips!!
Considering they are plastic and about 20 yrs old, I'd love to get them off in one piece if possible.
By his big arm motion and what may be a flat head screwdriver in his hand, I'm thinking it may be a slide under and pull clip up sort of affair??!!
Bought mine with a rip and today, the fuzzy stuff started to fall out onto the engine. Not sure why but there were wads of it dusting the engine. I did drive a tad fast getting to vet so maybe she vibrated too much?
I put some flex seal tape cuz, after all, you can make a speed boat out off the stuff, but after running the engine 10 minutes, the adhesive got soft and started to release. Somehow that rubber tape falling on engine and manifold seems a bad idea so I removed it. Now I'd like to remove the whole insulation pad until I find another.
So, anyone know how to remove insulation pad clips??
Thanks in advance to all you Vo mavins who might have some advice for me!!

See flex tape residue? I won't be making a flex seal boat anytime soon.

The clips I'd like to know how to remove.

You pinch the two sides together and pull away from the hood. some of them will likely snap as they get brittle with time, so if you plan to keep them, then be careful. You will notice them flex as soon as you touch them.

Thanks so much!
I did get one side to move toward center, but thought I'd rather see what you guys say before I pulled it!
Yes, 19 years+ means they will likely crack but hope springs eternal. Will hunt up a source or maybe hit the u-pull it near me if they have similar car!
Again thanks!
