Default Park Assist Button Won't Stay On

Hello,
The "Park Assist system needs service" message keeps appearing on my screen (2008 V70). It was not working in winter months, even when the all eight sensors were clean and clear. Then suddenly with warmer temps it is functioning on its own, BUT the message still appears, and the on/off button on the vertical center console does not work, and it remains off, even though the system works, and when I try to turn it on, it automatically shuts off, but the system still operates!
Appreciate any assistance you may offer.
Thank you in advance.

Best bet would be to get it scanned with a compatible scanner that can communicate with all the modules and see what error codes are stored. That could point you in the right direction. I would think there might be something faulty with the wiring maybe. Loose connection, bad ground etc.

You don't need vida to talk to all modules, but a cheap scanner won't work.

Thank you very much @Dingus1 for your input and advice. Is there a particular scanner you recommend that has worked well with your experience please?

I don't know about the different types of scanners, but I have an Autel MX808 at home that serves me well. Talks to the different modules just fine and didn't break the bank. I needed this when I upgraded to a 2015+ car and couldn't use cracked VIDA anymore. There are many other options that will do the same, I just lack the knowledge.

Your car is a 2008 so you can use the cracked vida 2014d to scan it, but you would also need a DiCE unit to connect computer to the car. Fake ones run $200 or so last I checked and real units are 700+.
