SRS light on
 

I have an 06 Volvo v70 2.5T. I had an audio shop replace my factory radio. The SRS Light has come on, the backup assist no longer beeps through the radio. Tonight the check engine light came on. Would the SRS light cause the check engine light to come on? Does the car have to be taken to dealership to clear the SRS light? Does backup assist only work with factory radio?

The SRS won't clear. You need software to remove the radio from the configuration.

Your park assist won't work with the new radio.

Check engine light would be unrelated.

A Dealership will not clear any SRS lights unless the root of the problem is fixed. I'm not surprised what the Audio Shop did, I've seen it all. Installing aftermarket speakers causing the windows to drag, messing the whole MOST system around the amp, etc…
