2002 V70XC Tailgate
 

Hi: I hope someone can help me. I've searched thru the forum and can't find a specific answer to my problem.
When I try to open the tailgate with the fob I can't open it. The fuse is good and I can hear the motor work. But the tailgate won't open. The mechanism that you pull has no resistance to it.
I can open the tailgate manually if I push really hard on the bottom of the tailgate in the middle. The mechanism has resistance when I push the bottom of the tailgate in. There appears to be nothing in the way of the mechanism.
So I assume it is just something out of alignment. I have reset the trim piece at the latch to no avail. Is there an alignment process that I should try?
Any advice would be appreciated.
