Hello Everyone,
I tackled the ETM repair on my car using the Sacer sensor. It was really easy once I had the part on the table. I found it helpful to use a Dremel with a couple of good and large carving bits to dig out the insulating resin around the metal tabs that you need to get to. The Dremel also helped cut the old sesor away from the electric tabs without actually damaging the tabs themselves.
I used the Dremel and a stone tip to creat a nice new surface on the tabs to solder the new sensor to.
The one big mistake I made, which no one should make, was I bought and tried to add new insulating resin once the repair was done. BAD IDEA!!! :eek:The resin leaked into the side that was repaired. It leaked inside the ETM and ruined everything. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB IDEA. :cool:
The repair was real easy to tackle.
I learned. I am thinking of buying some old ETMs in the junk yard and trying it again.
