how difficult to swap out a Volvo HU-850 stereo?
I just recently purchased my third XC70 Cross Country, a 2007. My first two were a 2001 and 2004 respectively. I love everything about the car, EXCEPT... the Volvo factory stereo system (model HU-850) is not compatible with Sirius satellite radio. It is the model with the navigation, which has not worked since I bought the car...but I don't care because I would never use that feature anyway. But I digress. It does not have "AUX IN" capability, therefore if I want to enjoy my Sirius satellite subscription in my "new" car, I would need a dash mounted satellite radio and a complicated wiring job, and it would also broadcast the signal on FM to the Volvo receiver, compromising sound quality.
So I guess my simple question is: is it possible to swap out my HU-850 unit, nav screen and all, for the "other" Volvo stereo system that was also available that model year, which did not have the nav (again, a feature I neither want nor need), but did have AUX IN and is therefore satellite-ready?
...any helpful insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
