Replacing Center Console Armrest

2 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm in the process of trying to replace the armrest in an XC70 (2006)..I've seen some instructions online BUT I'm not sure how to remove the silver end caps that are over the ends of the hinge (see photo)....I'm hoping I can just remove that piece and swap in the new one I have (see other photo) without removing a whole lot of the central "tunnel" console...
Appreciate any help,

Thanks,
Alan,

Did anyone ever figure this out? In process right now but having issue getting entire console over emergency brake....do not want to break any tabs or plastic if possible, goin at it blind.

I assume you got this resolved since it's been awhile. Haynes has pretty good instructions for this if anyone else is dealing with it. I replaced the console in my 2004 V70, you have wiggle and jiggle it but it's doable.

Yeah, i got it all squared away, thanks for your reply! Have moved on to my E34 525i and E39 540i......cars they always seem to need something, glad that i can do most of stuff and there is a group of people to bounce questions off of (both Volvo and BMW).

In case anyone else is struggling with this, have replaced or modified the center console in my 2004 V70 and 2001 XC70, it isn't hard but there are a few tricky parts. 1A Auto has an excellent video on this.
