Side panel / side scuff plate - removal
 

Hi everybody,

I'm the happy owner of 2005 XC70 and living in Canada have to deal with rust issues. The bottom of my rear door is rusted. Nothing dramatic, but I need to address the problem now before this winter. In order to do so I have to remove the exterior side panel. Thanks to this forum, I found on the accessories volvo cars the documentation to do this. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that there is a confusion from Volvo about this document as it looks quite clear to me that it is showing how to install/remove the panel for an XC90. See for yourself if you want:

There are two screws on the bottom, inside the door I have to unscrew, but after that I don't know what to do. Is the panel glewed ? Do I have to unclip something ? No idea.

I have the same problem with the side scuff plate, below which I can glance a rust spot. Again, I believe the documentation from Volvo is incorrect:

I can see several rivets which have to be removed but after that I'm blind.

Please let me know if you have any knowledge about these removal operations.
