Timing belt tensioner setting

OK, when setting timing belt tensioner we have three temp. setting:Cold, warm and hot. My question is:
Do wehave to reset it every time season temperature changed?
The reason I ask because when I bought my car in the Summer, the timing belt was replaced at 164+K, I don't know what tensioner setting was but the car was run good, I have done breather system and some other things to keep the car in good working order, untill weather get colder the car start runs rough, throw codes, I clear the code, fixedwhat the code said, ran good then codescome up again; Missfire multiple cylinders. I reset the tensioner to the cold setting, car ran good till the couple of warm days last week, suddently engine rumbling lost power, check engine on, after stop the car I went in the store, the car started OK but still rumbling, but as I drive home it's run better, I scan the code; I's multiple miss fire again, next day the weather was cooled down, I clear the code and the car run fine again without I'm working any thing. That make me think If we should wait till weather is warm and set the tensioner to warm temprature ,so the tensioner will not have to endure extrem oposite ends of temperature?

The tensioner is set based upon the outside temperature when it is originally installed. It should stay around the midpoint for the duration of the life of the belt.

There is no reason to mess with it again unless it is showing extreme tight or loose for the temperature conditions.

What codes are you getting?
