Default XC70 Transmission performance low

My 2013 XC70 which has done 80k miles has put this message up followed by transmission service reqd. It then put itself into 3rd gear and would not change up or down either in auto or manual. This also happened on my 2011 model which I sold with the message unresolved. Anybody out there know what’s going on? On start up the following morning everything was normal again but I only drove 5 miles.

Default XC70 transmission problem

yes I did. I bought another XC70 a 2013 model which after 2weeks showed the same dashboard message. I was seriously pissed off. So basically I prepared to go to war with Volvo. I went to my local main dealership here in Barnstaple looking for a fight. The guy at the front desk could see I was not going to be fobbed off as I was before. Basically he came clean. Volvo have known of this problem with the Asin Warner auto box for a long time but didn’t know what the problem was so were charging £1200 to have a few seals changed inside the gearbox and still not curing the fault. Turns out it was an £8, yes £8, software update. They then have to take the car out for a couple of hours to reconfigure the box. Total cost £120. Done 15000 miles since. The car feels sportier and smoother uses less fuel and I’m happy and relieved that I didn’t fork out £1200 for a repair that doesn’t work.

When I had a 2002's Volvo transmission reloaded / reflashed years ago the invoice has a part number on it. Would you please post that? Thanks.

Default Reduced engine performance

I just solved a reduced engine performance code yesterday, wasn’t getting any throttle but was idling fine. The #8 fuse was blown and after further review the A/C compressor was junk so I unplugged the power wire and now have acceleration. Hope this helps someone this was on an 05 model turbo engine.
