Default do i need an amplifier?

i drive a 1996 volvo 850 sedan and i just recently bought some new speakers that i will be installing myself. i have Alpine SPR-69C 6X9s (power range: 2-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)) to replace my stock rear decks. i also have two pairs of Alpine SPS-400 4"s (power range: 2-45 watts RMS (140 watts peak power))for both my front and rear doors. i plan on running these with my Pioneer DEH-P5000UB head unit (RMS power output 14 watts, peak output 50 watts). i also have baffles for all of the speakers in hopes to improve sound quality. i really dont know much about car audio andwas pondering the following:

will mythe speakers be powered enough justwith my head unitor will they sound like crap?

if i need an amp, how many channels do i need and how many watts should i look to run my speakers at?

Thanks much in advance.

James

It should sound pretty good using the deck.
Also the rear hat shelf speaker should be 5x7's not 6x9's

Rear speakers in my 1995 850 N/A were 6x9 and not many 6x9's in the aftermarket world would fit.

5x7's fit with small modification.

I didn't want to mess with them so for now I gave up.

You can pop yours out easy to see if they will fit.

Open the trunk and look from the bottom and remove the 4 nuts and pop the speaker out and try test fitting.

yeah i already have pulled them out once so it shouldnt be too difficult. i assume that there will be problems if i try to install them with baffles considering the already tight squeeze

There might be the only way is to try.

The look I was really going for with mine was using the stock plastic cases and have the aftermarket speakers inside.

Oh by the way I used a 4 channel amp for two front dash speakers, front doors and rear deck speakers.

do you think i will need an amp for my door speakers too? i was thinking about just getting a 2 channel that puts out like 150 x 2 specifically for my rear decks. (if they even fit!) i was browsing crutchfield and found this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_489HA10...00.html?tp=115.

open to ideas and suggestions. im really looking to get my fill on bass from my rears so i dont have to get a sub.

yeah the 6x9s didnt fit at all, im going to have to send them back to the 5x7s. the door speakers were also larger than 4" so i dont know why crutchfield told me to get those. my door speakers are 6" across
