head unit and fact amp
Have a question. When installing an aftermarket head unit that is like a 40wx4 stereo will that have a problem with the factory amplifier? as in sending too much power that thefact amp will overload and cut out?

From what I can see, there shouldn't be any issues. All you would need to do would be to buy your dash kit and wiring harness. Please, don't "Back Yard Bob" it and cut wires. It just causes problems.

RE: head unit and fact amp
Im nota "back yard bob" I would rather spend the time and money to get the correct kits and harness. I ask because I had problems with my Ford van. I wired up a aftermarket head unit and with the fact amp it caused all sorts of problems until it failed.

More often than not that site will list if you need anything special to work with the stock amp. Since it isn't listing anything, you shouldnt have any trouble. Fords with the "premium" sound system often require something extra however.
