How to hook up stereo controls on steering wheel to after market stereo
 

Hi,

My question is on how to hook up stereo controls on steering wheel to after market stereo.

I want to install a touch screen stereo (maybe with GPS) in my 2003 S60 instead of standard stereo. I found a lot of solutions that should work, but couldn't find anything on how to hook them up to steering wheel audio controls. I spent 4 hrs online, and found adapters that allow to do it for other cars makers, but nothing for Volvo.

Have anyone done that? So far I found only one solution that allows to do it, but it's $1100. I would like to keep it not higher that $700, as you can buy stereos starting from $300 on eBay...

Please let me know if anyone had a success with it.

Dietz makes a unit for your car that will work with a variety of radios, but it is pricey. Unsure of your 1100 dollar price, they tend to go for ~250$.
