Here's a DIM repair service in the Montreal area

Just wanted to share, I found a place in Montreal that can repair the cluster for the 2002-2003 Volvo. It is actually a small tv repair shop. I brought to them my DIM board and they did a great repair, inspecting and correcting all broken solders and reflowing the motorola chip. They speak french. Remember to tell them what area of the board to be repaired, I asked them to reflow the motorola chip and to replace all 6 small resistors located around this chip. They said they also found other cracked solders on the board. All in all, they did a great job, for around $100.

Here's the coordinates of the shop as of January 2015

392 Boulevard Cartier O
Laval, near Montreal

Good info and thanks. We need all the good Volvo mechanics we can find in Montreal.
I have found some good mechanics at Cdn Tire in Kirkland, Qc.
It's pretty funny,,,, you'll see about 6 or 7 Volvos parked beside the garage that ALL belong to the mechanics.
These guys really know their Volvos.
Ask for Maurice at the service desk.
Last job they did for me was phenomenal. Long story short, repaired my exhaust manifold with 5 or 6 sheeted studs that Volvo dealer said would require removal of the engine! Cost $1800.00. My mechanic repaired it months ago for $400. And all is well.
cheers

It's good to hear there are others besides the dealer that can fix our Volvo's in Montreal. I'll be honest and say I'm not all that confident in Canadian Tire..... I have a power steering pressure hose that has popped, and I have some nightmare quotes !!! Almost half the value of the car.
Any suggestions from anyone ? It almost seems the engine needs to be lifted, and the driveshaft to the aft needs to come off - crazy design !!!
I had thought of finding a used hose from the pump to past the flex part of the pipe, then using a swagelok fitting to attach them together. They should be good for 10,000+psi, so the 12-1500 from the p/s pump shouldn't affect it. Anyone ever try something like this ?
