Default 2005 V50 just purchased and now having problems

Hey guys, I've been browsing this forum for a few days and it seems like a great community. Lots of problems solved, I'm hoping you might be able to help with mine.

2005 V50 T5, bought a couple weeks back and it ran flawless. Then as of last week the CEL came on with a cylinder 3 ignition coil error. Ever since the car has been doing the standard bogging, studdering and trouble starting.
I replaced the coil but still running poorly with CEL.
What is worrying me is that it is also over heating with slight coolant loss.

I have no idea which direction to go from here I don't have the budget for a mechanic right now so hoping to trouble shoot with the help from you great folk.
Thank you for your time and knowledge!

If you don't see any coolant leaking on the driveway (any signs of wetness around the coolant overflow tank?) or sense a sweet smell when the heat first comes on (ie leaky heater core), you should test for head gasket issues. Overheating can be caused by the misfires but the combination with coolant loss is worrisome. You can buy a kit to test for HCs in the coolant (signs of a leaky head gasket). Is there any signs of frothing on the dipstick? Did you also replace the plug when you did the coil and check for cracks on the connector to the coil?
