I'm going on another road trip in my 2022 XC60 plug-in next month. It's all highway driving, so the battery will be empty after the first ~40 miles. Do you have an opinion on whether I should use Hybrid, Constant AWD, or Power for the best mileage?

In March, I ran the same segment of the Illinois Tollway back-to-back using the different drive modes and got:
Hybrid - 30.1 mpg
Constant AWD - 31.3
Power - 30.9

Clearly, this isn't a scientific test, but I was surprised. I'll be driving about 1,500 miles in the middle of June. Which drive mode would you use?

Cheers!

Does anyone else with a mirror that has a mind of it's own?

I only use one key, and have programmed both memory 1 & 2 to have the mirrors set where I like. But, the driver side mirror is (almost) always misaligned. Sometimes it moves as far left (away from the vehicle) as possible. Other times it's off by only .5 inch or so. Nearly every time I start the car, I have to manually adjust it. Despite programming them, when I hold the 1 or 2 memory button, the mirror just moves left. The other mirror, both seats, and the steering wheel are always perfectly set. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I pulled the battery connector off the on call board - totally my fault - and will need to get that repaired. As it's the BCM (!) the only way to replace is through a Volvo dealership with full recoding

Anyone know of a good board repair shop?

Thanks!

I have a 2016 XC90 T6 Inscription. Last night I noticed that the bottom "hammer/T" LED is out. The upper part and the handle still light up. I tried searching the forum for this, but could only find things about the whole thing going out. Is there a way to replace that LED bulb? I have the Active Bending Headlights if that matters. I don't want to have to replace the entire headlight for 1LED being out. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having weird electrical issues on my 2011 S40.

I am testing with a multi-meter in between the positive terminal on the battery and the car battery connector/clamp.

When I first plug in the battery on the car after removing the positive battery terminal and I wait 30 seconds or so the draw is 70 milliamps, which would be fine. However...

When I turn on the ignition, turn it off, then wait about a minute the draw comes down to 370 milliamps.

When I pull fuse 18, which from what I read goes the to passenger side fuse box from the engine fuse box, it goes to 90 milliamps. It's a little higher than I would like, but doable.

I have pulled every single fuse out from the passenger fuse box and no change at 370 milliamps.

The last odd thing is that the lamp switch went in the full-on position has no lights and is dim in door open position when in drive. If I open the door with it in Open door position the light will turn off. Because it was behaving so oddly, I did remove the entire dome light assembly and no change in draw.

Obviously it could be two separate issues but just in case there's a known problem I figured I'd mention both since they're both odd electrical issues to me.

If any of you Volvo experts has thoughts on this, I'm all ears and thanks.

Hi Guys,

I have 2017 XC 90 D5. I was really delighted with the car until the engine cut out on the road a month ago. After cutting out the engine was turning over but failed to start after that. It has been in the main dealers since. The diagnostics computer in the show "Injector Control Pressure too low. *About 2 days prior to problem arising I noticed a very minor vibration/ struggle when the car was cruising at about 1500 RPM. It was enough that I noticed it but not enough to really effect the driving or cause me concern. No unusual engine sound. Speed Test
2 Injectors were thought to be at fault but when replaced, the fault persisted. The other 2 injectors are now being replaced.
Question:
1. Could all 4 injectors suddenly fail in a car with relatively low mileage of this age?
2. Is the car cutting out at 50mpg symptomatic of injector problems.
3. A non volvo mechanic (but highly regarded) suspects its no injectors but the fuel pump.

Any ideas/ views?

All help appreciated

Having issues with the engine dying 3-4 minutes after startup. From cold, the engine starts and runs fine for a short period before it stalls. After that, each subsequent start gets shorter and shorter until I can't get it to start at all. If I let the car sit for a while, I can start it again and it runs nicely for 3-4 new minutes before stalling again. The stalls are instantaneous and happen without much stumbling/coughing, with one exception: When we tried starting without the AMM/MAF, then reconnected it while the car was idling, it ran okay at first but with fluctuating RPMs. When we plugged the MAF back in, the car ran smoothly and steadily for about 30 seconds before losing RPMs, then revved up just before dying, lost RPMs again, revved up again just before dying, and finally died (it behaved as if someone was sitting in the car trying to prevent it from stalling).

Have already:

Replaced the fuel pump relay

Replaced the crankshaft impulse sensor

Tested the throttle position sensor

Replaced the external fuel pump and fuel filter

Replaced the air filter

Tested the airflow meter (with an ohmmeter, but unable to measure burn-off)

Checked that fuse clips aren't losing contact

Replaced the lambda/O2 sensor

Curious if anyone has experienced something similar — tips are very welcome!
