Default Received strange PM

Hi,

Anyone else get this message?

"Hey,I'm new here, how's it going?"The most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently" - Pema Chodron---Serendipityhttp://knowledge33.notlong.com"

I figure it is spam.

Yes, the message rings true. Definitely good advice. Not so sure if it is good advice to click on the link though......

I've been deleting this type of crap as soon as I find it. If it reeks of spam it probably is so don't respond.

jks2,

Sorry I've been out from the forum for a long time. Living & working in Japan drains me everyday with enormous nonsense.

Anyway, I've been receiving spam alerts via email and as soon as I receive the message, I too, delete them. I just deleted & moved a number of posts in New Members Area yesterday, and now I found out I have to do the same in this section of the forum.

Oh well, it's part of life.

Thanks for your effort to keep the forum clean & harm-free.

Don't know that there is any way to stop them. I just delete and go on.

Read the sites privacy statement and you may understand how you received that email and may receive many more in the future. You may be able to opt out...read the statement! While I find this site very informational I find it very difficult to delete a posting, change your user name or cancel membership. These options may be on the site and I have not found them. It is a great forum just needs to be a little more user friendly...

Very few forums allow total deletion of posts by members. And I've yet to find one that allowed screen name changes or member initiated cancellation. Any moderator here can do all of that for you however. A simple PM will suffice.
