05 s60 awd catalytic converter and muffler
I hit a bump at a private road and this it what happened.
thepipe goes through from catalytic converter to muffler got bent and was touching driving shaft above the pipe.
I brought this to a local repair shop and got told that I have to change the catalytic converter and muffler because they could not bent the pipe back since the joint of the converter and pipe is old and rusty, they were saying that they might break the thing as they trying to bent it back. they quoted me $900. any advice?

I dont think it's that bad but it was touching the driving shaft that goes through above that pipe.
Well its hard to tell without seeing the bend and where it is touching, but I would take it somewhere else. In most cases, the bracket can be bent back into shape so that it no longer pushes the exhaust upward into the drive shaft.
