It is interesting that you are able to get the remote lock activated on your fob. The dealer told me that I could not active it on mine and that the only option is the App. I wanted to argue with them about it, because I had it activated on my 2012 XC60 fob, so I know they can do it. I called and talked to 2 other dealer and they told me the very same thing. I got the 4G upgrade and now am waiting for them to give me the two years of free App subscription they promised. Fingers crossed! :-)

If you key fob looks like that, it can definitely get ERS added to it. Im pretty sure its just a software install.

EDIT: Some key fobs also have 6 buttons, an addition button with an "i" on it, these can still get remote start added too

Yeah it does. I am convinced they are just telling me that to they to force us me to keep paying for the annual subscription. The fact that they could do it in my 2012 makes me thing they are not being quite upfront about it. It is frustrating for sure. I am going to just keep calling different Volvo dealers and maybe I will find one nearby that will be willing to program it.

I had all the information about it and my local dealer was still a pain and would not listen to me for a while until I had to be a bit of a d-bag to him. I was quoted $500. It is in the owners manual too
