2005 V70R code U0002 and Immobilizer Warning

Fun day today, not. While driving on a spring break trip with the family, the wagon surged while climbing a hill and the check engine light illuminated, the tach went to zero, the coolant temp indicator went full cold, the anti-skid warning message illuminated, and the D for drive became a - (minus) sign on the dash. It was pretty windy and rainy but no other issues. Previous repair was the RF axle for a wobble. We stopped the car at a convenient location (in front of an auto parts store) and read the code as U0002, High Speed Controller Area Network Communication Bus Performance (confirmed). When trying to restart the car, the Immobilizer Warning popped up and the car was subsequently towed to a shop that could hopefully diagnose and repair the problem. Anyone have experience with this code or Immobilizer warning?

did you test battery voltage? probably the siren module - I believe there's also a battery pack in the siren that can go bad from time to time but if the module goes it can take the battery with it or low battery voltage can set off the module's fault code. How old is the car's battery? Curious if you tried the immobilizer reset when it failed to start (lock/unlock the doors with the key fob about 5x). Also, you may get more looks on the V70 model forum, let me know if you want me to move the thread.

Hi, i have the exactly same issue with my 2006 s60 d5. At mine, the problem was the ECM (engine control module). It's fried.... Bought a second-hand one and now it is at some electronics shop to clone the data from the old one to the second-hand one. Good luck with that! Hope you will repair it soon. Cheers
